You can open a sample company in Quickbooks. The purpose of the sample company is essentially to get acquainted with the software without messing up your business data. This is really a very good feature provided by Quickbooks.
As you can see here, when you select the "Open a sample file" menu, you will get a sub-menu wherein you can select your type of company. Feel free to select any company as these are all sample companies with some sample transactions. Select the business that most resembles your business. Here we have already opened a sample file: "A retailer who tracks individual sales" and hence you can see that in the company selection box. You can open any number of sample companies.
